Learn how the Sabrina Veit, the creator of Diff Modes, started her journey towards a healthier lifestyle.

I remember I was in the mall at a changing room when I was 12 or 13 years old trying on clothes when I had a breakdown. I started crying and was frustrated at the fact that everything I tried on didn’t look good on me.

Back then, I was chubby, very chubby, and not happy with how I looked.

Side note: It is crazy to think how at 12 or 13 years old, body shaming/the perfect body/being fat/being skinny impacted little girls at that age - just like it did me. Back then the image of a “pretty girl” was Victoria's Secret models. With time, many brands began promoting different types of bodies and it has been slowly changing the perception to teach girls that every type of body of beautiful - which they are!

No girl nor woman should feel embarrassed by how they look just because of society’s misinterpreted perception and idealization of who is pretty and who is not.

Don’t listen to the noise, it’s just noise.

Anyways, my mom saw me crying in the changing room and decided to take action and paid for a nutritionist to help me out.

As soon as I stepped into that office that’s when my life changed.

I became more self-conscious of the food I ate and began learning about the importance of nutrition and eating healthy is for your body.

I was able to lose about 20 pounds with the nutritionist.

The older I grew, the more I became interested in going to the gym and doing resistance training but I was never that consistent.

I was that girl that had no idea what to do, was embarrassed to do squats, assumed everyone was looking at me, used random Instagram workouts, and wasn’t doing any effective workouts.

From then, I did a few guides over the years, joined a team training gym for a few months (which I loved), joined a boxing gym, and just did a few different things to keep me motivated.

It wasn’t until late 2017 when I became more consistent with my workouts and implemented fitness into a lifestyle.

Starting in January 2020, I set my goals and decided that 2020 was going to be the year I finally put myself first and achieve my goals.

As a result, I began to consistently exercise 5-6 days a week in January, and even to this day, I have kept my word. (Which honestly, I still cannot believe).

With about 4 months and a half left for 2020 to be over, I am excited to soon be able to say that I did keep my word and did work on what I proposed myself to do.

You really can achieve anything you put your mind to.

If you haven’t started any projects you wanted to do - just do it.

If you have always wanted to eat healthier - slowly make the change.

If you have always wanted to exercise a few times a week - make the time.

Time goes by flying - don’t let it fly away from you.
